Richard McDonald

has over 30 years of experience in all phases of corporate communications and business development. During his career he held senior level positions in international firms working with a diverse list of clients, many in the Fortune 500 category. He was founder and CEO of Askus.com, an online qualitative research service, acquired by Ask.com in 1998. In 2001, he founded PLAY, a residential technology company based in South Carolina that served the residential construction industry in the southeast. The company was acquired by an investor group in 2006. Richard has held numerous board positions, including the Kennebunk Land Trust and The Gulf of Maine Aquarium Development Committee. He was president of the board of the Collins Center for the Arts at the University of Maine and a member of the Dean’s Advisory Board for the university’s College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. He is the president of Saving Maine, a nonprofit environmental education and advocacy group focused on combatting the threat of industrial energy development in rural Maine. Richard resides with his wife Nancy in Kennebunk and Grand Lake Stream, Maine.
